Visit of the project team to the Maritime museum Piran 15. 06. 2026 Tracing the History of Malvasia: A Visit to the Piran Maritime Museum Malvasia, a world-renowned grape variety that takes its name from the Greek town of Monemvasia, a fact known to only a few, is bringing together the Mediterranean this summer through the project On the Routes of Malvasia (Sulle rotte delle Malvasie). The project is a cultural initiative aimed at rediscovering the ancient history of this grape variety, which was introduced to our region through the once-powerful Republic of Venice. It was the Venetians who played a key role in introducing Malvasia to the wider world.

17. 04. 2026 On this day 17 April 1941 On this very day 85 years ago, 17 April 1941, Sergej Mašera (11 May 1912 – 17 April 1941), naval officer, Lieutenant Commander, national hero and holder of the Partisan Commemorative Medal, mined, after the capitulation of the Yugoslav army, together with Lieutenant Commander Milan Spasić, the destroyer Zagreb in the Bay of Kotor and lost his life on it.

17. 02. 2026 Visit of the participants of the Camp for the Blind at the Maritime Museum of Piran A camp bringing together blind and visually impaired people and their companions from all over Slovenia is being held in Piran for the third time. The camp changes location every three years. At the initiative and recommendation of Špela Pahor, a renowned storyteller and ethnologist who has been active in the field of cultural inclusion and education, the camp participants visited the Sergej Mašera Maritime Museum in Piran for the first time.
