Opening of the inter-museum exhibition Heritage and the Power of Myths at the Maritime Museum Piran
On Wednesday, 9 April 2025, the exhibition Heritage and the Power of Myths was inaugurated at the Piran Maritime Museum, taking visitors into the rich world of mythological stories and cultural heritage through museum artefacts.
At the opening of the exhibition, the visitors were welcomed by the Acting Director of the Museum, Uroš Hribar, who highlighted the interesting concept of the exhibition and the importance of cooperation between museums.
Snježana Karinja, Dr Maša Saccara, Andrej Preložnik, Špela Prunk and Jana Puhar were present to share their research and ideas that shaped the content and design of the exhibition.
In their speeches, they emphasised that myths are not just stories of the past, but a living part of our everyday lives, shaping our perception of the present and the future.
Visitors had the opportunity to exchange views, raise questions and find out more about the process of creating the exhibition, the wealth of information hidden in each object and the relevance of mythology in modern times.
The event ended with a relaxed social area where visitors could continue their informal discussions.
The Heritage and the Power of Myths exhibition will be open until 8 June, and all lovers of archaeology, museums, mythology and cultural heritage are invited to visit it and discover the power of stories that transcend time.
