The culinary in the salt pans within the framework of the Days of European Cultural Heritage

On October 5, the final event of the project The culinary in the salt pans took place in the exhibition area of the Infocenter of the Maritime Museum in Monfort, Portorož. The event took place within the framework of the Days of European Cultural Heritage.

 

In the introductory work, Veronika Bjelica, curator of the Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran, Matjaž Kljun, conservator of the Institute for the Protection of Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, OE Piran and Andrea Bartole, president of the Self-Governing Community of Italian Nationality, Piran, presented this year's implementation of the project and thanked all the participants for the collaboration.

 

Giorgina Rebol, the representative of the Salt Family group (La Famea dei salineri), then presented the dishes that were cooked this year in the Museum of salt making and Aleš Cherbocci showed photos and video content prepared within the project by the Association of Italian Youth.

 

This was followed by the presentation of the publication Words and Tastes of Istrian Cuisine, which contains various recipes, stories about eating habits of the past, and also includes a small dictionary of words from Istrian cuisine.
They were presented by the co-author Assoc. prof. dr. Suzana Todorović and editor Ingrid Celestina from the bookstore and publishing house Libris.
 
The event was enlivened by the musical duo Angelo and Edi Dobrilovič.
