Danilo Petrinja - Primož (Petrinje, 20 February 1922 -.26 February 2003
He trained as a carpenter. In 1942–43 he was in an Italian working battalion, and till the end of war took part in the National Liberation Front Movement. He came to Koper after an active partisan period and 10-year work in Koper District, and after managing a couple of companies in Sežana, where he was also entangled in illegal trade. As he lost favour with Boris Kraigher, President of the Government of the Republic of Slovenia at that time, he became, as claimed in his book, a victim of political intrigue, which made his further employment a major problem. Still, he was offered few jobs, but Petrinja decided to move to Koper after the Sežana District was closed down. He moved there in August 1955 (Petrinja, 2001, 196-198). From December 1956 to March 1959 he was Director of the Water Community Koper, and from March 1959 to April 1970 worked as Director General of the Port of Koper. Then he held the post of Director of Troples and in the 1972-76 period the post of Director of Sermin. From 1983, he was Consultant to the firm Iplas. He is the author of several books, writing about the events taking place during World War II and about the development of the Primorska region, especially the Port of Koper. In 1970 he received, as Director of the Port of Koper, the Boris Kraigher award for his economic successes of lasting importance. At his 60th anniversary, he was decorated by the Presidency of Yugoslavia with the Order of Brotherhood and Unity with Golden Wreath, while in 1980 the Assembly of the Republic of Slovenia named him a member of the Council of the Republic of Slovenia.
