Forward Into the Past 2024

The Maritime Museum Piran is once more participating in the joint online campaign of Slovenian museums "Forward Into the Past".

 

From 17 April 2024 at 11:00 a.m. you can watch, on the YouTube channel, a video titled Fishing on the Slovenian Istrian Coast, which was created as part of the reconstruction of the permanent exhibition carrying the same name. It brings a brief overview of the history of fishing, fishing boats, nets, fishing methods, the fish processing industry and selling fish, as well as some fishing-related activities from the Methodical Encyclopaedia published in Padua in 1797. The video can be viewed in a more extensive version at the exhibition itself. The author of the exhibition is Dr Nadja Terčon, while the film was created by Mateja Tomažinčič.
