19th Salt pans worker`s festival on the Feast of St George

The Maritime Museum Piran is once again taking part in the traditional Saltworks Festival, which includes a varied programme highlighting:

Antiques fair and varied cultural programme in Tartini Square

 

The Tartini Theatre in Piran will host the exhibition Božo Štajer: The World of Salt Pans, which is a collaboration between the Museum of Contemporary History of Slovenia, the Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran and the Institute for the Protection of the Cultural Heritage of Slovenia, OE Piran.The exhibition will be held in the Tartini Theatre in Piran from 10.00 - 16.00. At 13.30, Slobodan Simič Sime will present his book Salt Vessels.

 

A guided tour of the Maritime Museum will take place at 11.30. The guided tours will be free of charge on payment of the regular ticket.

 

The Museum of Saltworks in the Sechoevlje Salt Pans will be free of charge all day. Free guided tours will take place at 11.00. A train shuttle service will be organised from the Fontanigge entrance to the Saltworks Museum. 

 

There will be two interesting workshops in the park next to the Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran:

13.00 - 14.00 Istria Musical Instruments Workshop, led by Marino Kranjac.
14.00 - 15.00 Saltworks workshop, organised by the Maritime Museum Sergej Mašera Piran.

 

The collections will be on display in the Monfort Exhibition Centre from 10.00 to 17.00.
