The new book of the Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran, written by dr. Nadja Terčon with the title "Sava & Jolanda, The First Slovenian and Yugoslav Sailors, Women and the Sea, and the Entry of Slovenian Women into the Male World of the Maritime Profession".

The book brings two highly interesting life stories, which certainly deserve not to sink into oblivion. These are stories about two girls, two young women, entering the typical traditional male seafarers’ profession. Sava Kaluža and Jolanda Gruden were the first Slovenian and Yugoslav women seafarers to be trained and boarded merchant ships.

The presentation is expected to be on the 7th and 8th of March 2021 - on the occasion of the Slovenian Maritime Day and on the International Women's Day.

A richly furnished hard cover book (250 pages, about 220 pictures) will be available for pre-ordering with a 20% discount (16 instead of 20 EUR). Don't miss it.
