From the Adriatic to the Mediterranean
The exhibition From the Adriatic to the Mediterranean was created within the framework of the 27th AMMM International Forum - Association of Maritime Museums of the Mediterranean, which was hosted by the Maritime Museum of Piran between 29 September and 01 October 2022. The AMMM promotes the diffusion, safeguard and awareness of the maritime heritage of the Mediterranean basin.
The exhibition From the Adriatic to the Mediterranean consists of twenty panels, which are on display along the staircase of the Maritime Museum of Piran, in the Gabrielli Palace.
The exhibition was created in cooperation with museums, members of the Association of Maritime Museums of the Mediterranean and it highlights the diversity and common characteristics of museums that work in the field of preservation and popularization of the intangible and tangible heritage of the common sea.
In addition to the Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran, the following also present their collections and specialties: Fishing Museum of the Trieste Coast, Maritime Museum of Cesenatico, Maritime Museum Galata, The Tuna Fishing Museum of Stintino, MUSA - Cervia salt Museum, The Sea Museum of San Benedetto del Tronto, ECOmuseum - The house of Batana, The Maritime and History Museum of the Croatian Littoral Rijeka, Croatian Maritime Museum Split, Betina Museum of Wooden Shipbuilding, Museums of Kotor, Maritime Museum of Montenegro, The Sant Feliu de Guíxols History Museum, Museum of the Port of Tarragona, Maritime Museum of Barcelona, c, The Musée National de la Maríne of France, The Musée Départemental Arles Antique and The Maritime Museum of Napoli. A panel also presents the Kvarner Festival of the Sea and Maritime Tradition, called Fiumara.
Video presentations of seven museums are also on display.
