Musophile music festival

On Friday, 21 June 2024, the longest day of the year was noisily celebrated at Monfort in the company of the Musophile Association and the Portorož Hearing and Speech Communication Centre.

Initially, we "lit" a fire by using cardboard boxes between the moored ships (specifically, we set up a structure) and then warmed up ourselves with vocal, breathing, and rhythmic exercises. We were further awakened by the coffee from the folk song: "My Mother is Making Coffee", which we all accompanied by drumming all kinds of rhythms on the boxes.

The morning warmup was directed by Maja Bjelica from the Musophile Association, while the CKSG pupils prepared several interesting musical or music-dance acts that were quickly intermixed with the morning rhythms.

In the second part, the pupils participated at a workshop led by Vasko Vidmar, when drawing musical motifs on boxes and watched the kamishibai performance by Martina Ljubič from the Piran Maritime Museum. It was based on the story by Patricija Peršolja about Marta and her heart, in which the pupils took part with sound devices under the guidance of Maruša Bizjak from the Piran Maritime Museum.

At the end, the temperature rose so high that the children said goodbye to each other and left, with their beating hearts already on the way to meet the summer.
