Virtual reality in museums and tourism

On Monday, 11 November 2019, the presentation of the use of modern technologies, digital solutions and applications in the museum, tourism and other activities took place at the Infocentre Monfort in Portorož. The companies Izstop and Multiversum, in cooperation with the Maritime Museum "Sergej Mašera" Piran, presented solutions offered by virtual and augmented reality to representatives of museums, tourist associations and hotels. In the practical part the participants of the event were able to experience virtual reality on their own while learning about various technological solutions. The Maritime Museum Piran already offers 3D glasses and tablets, which allow visitors with physical disabilities to take a virtual tour of Tona's house and the Museum of Salt-making, developed within the COME-IN! project (Interreg Central Europe Programme). In the next year we plan to develop the possibility of virtual sailing across the Bay of Piran on the traditional vessel »Istrian topo«
