Inv. No. PI-B 417 Fragment of the mouth of a Greek-Italic amphora with a triangular-shaped rim.

 

The texture is hard, with medium-sized inclusions: mica, very fine white and dark particles up to 0.6 mm, reddish ceramic particles up to 7 mm.

 

The surface is slightly rough.

 

Surface color: 10YR 7/4, very light brown; cross-section color: 7.5YR 7/4, pink.

 

Height: 6.2 cm; wall thickness: 1.4–2.35 cm; width: 9.35 cm; rim diameter: approx. 18 cm; weight: 116 g.

 

Site: Piran, Bolniška Street 1, archaeological excavations 1993, Stratigraphic unit 024; Quadrants 1, 2, 3.

 

Dated to: 2nd century BCE.
