Closing Event of the Exhibition “Mullet in teh nets”

Following a guided tour of the exhibition, led by its authors – Dr Nadja Terčon, Veronika Bjelica, Vinko Oblak and Luigi Divari – we will hear memories of mullet fishing in the Bay of Piran. 

Amalia Petroni and Vera Maraspin, whose fathers were closely involved in this tradition, and Fabio Steffe, who personally participated in mullet fishing, will share their experiences with us.

The gathering is an opportunity to talk about fishing techniques, fishing nets, work and life by the sea, as well as the knowledge that was passed down from generation to generation among fishermen and their families.
We also invite everyone who has memories, stories, photographs or experiences related to mullet fishing and the fishing tradition of the Bay of Piran to join us and share them. We will be pleased to hear your stories and, together, enrich the story told by the exhibition.
For children, we will prepare a watercolour drawing workshop, led by illustrator Gaja Lapajne Stanič.
