Salt Pan Gatherings - Museum of Salt-makingg in Fontanigge

Museum of Salt-making, Fontanigge – Sečovlje Salina Nature Park

Participants will meet at the entrance to the Sečovlje Salina Nature Park – Fontanigge, followed by departure by tourist train to the Museum of Salt-making.

 

A guided tour will take place at the museum. The ethnographic group “La Famea dei salineri” of the Italian Community Giuseppe Tartini will present traditional children’s games and social games. They will also demonstrate dough preparation and bread baking in the wood-fired oven located in the saltworker’s house.

 

During the gathering, we will open the exhibition Saltwork Photo Essays by Maja Bjelica. The exhibition features photographs created as part of the research project “Grain of Salt, Crystallising Cohabitation: Salt-Making as Experiential Environmental Wisdom” (ARIS J6-50196), carried out at the Science and Research Centre Koper.

The tourist train will depart from the museum back to the Fontanigge exit at 20:00.
