Interpreting Heritage through Myths and Stories

We invite you to a museum workshop entitled Interpreting Heritage through Myths and Stories, where you will explore heritage through the telling of myths and stories. The workshop will take place on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Monfort Exhibition ground,  Obala 8, Portorož, starting at 10:00 a.m. and ending at 4:00 p.m.

The workshop will be led by Verena Perko and Jana Puhar in collaboration with Snježana Karinja.

 

In the first part, we will focus on the museological nature of heritage objects and explore the possibilities for their interpretation.

 

The second part will be devoted to the basics of good public speaking and storytelling skills.

 

The third part will focus on the stories of the participants – we invite you to include a heritage object in your own story. We also welcome dialect stories and all forms of personal expression.

 

The workshop is intended for both professionals and interested individuals, with the aim of connecting museums with the community and reviving old storytelling skills.

 

Participation is free of charge, but the number of places is limited.
