Exhibition of the Piran Maritime Museum: SLOVENIAN SHIPS 6 & 11 - SPLOŠNA PLOVBA in Maribor

This time, our ships will "set sail" for Maribor with the exhibition SLOVENIAN SHIPS 6 & 11 SPLOŠNA PLOVBA.

 

The exhibition and its eponymous catalog showcase our rich maritime history, as well as both our tangible and intangible heritage.

On display will be ship's models, navigational instruments, various ship-related objects, artworks of artistic ship furnishings, all from the collection of Splošna plovba. Additionally, there will be archival documentary films, Tv-programs about seafarers, and, of course, stamps from the SLOVENIAN SHIPS series, along with much more. We invite you to visit.

The exhibition's author is Duška Žitko, with professional collaborators Jože Utenkar and Boris Vidmar. The designer of the stamps and the catalog is Matjaž Učakar.

 

In Maribor, students from the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Engineering at the University of Ljubljana, under the guidance of Boris Beja, will present their 3D video animations of the interiors of Splošna plovba ships to the public for the first time.

 

The opening of the exhibition will take place on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at 6:00 PM at the Museum of National Liberation Maribor, located at Heroja Tomšiča Street n. 5.
The exhibition will be on display until September 17, 2025.
