20th Salt pans worker's festival on the Feast of St George
The Museum participates at the 20th Saltpans Feast:
Saturday, 20/04/2024
9:40 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., The Port of Piran
1. The arrival of the salt boat (a museum replica of a traditional topo vessel) with salt in Piran
from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Tartini square
2. Workshops at the stand in the "Salt Labyrinth" with caves and islands on Tartini square
- "Printing on salt bags" - visitors will try their hand at making a stamp and print it on salt bags.
- "Fun tasks for young salt workers" - children will complete fun tasks with a salt work theme.
9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. and from 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m., Tartini Theater Piran
3. Inter-institutional exhibition of photographs by Božo Štajer "World of salt pans"
11:20 a.m. – 11:40 a.m., Tartini square
4. Expert lecture by dr. Flavio Bonin: Salt production on the Slovenian coast throughout history
