The Guest exhibition HISTORYA VENICE - A Journey to the Art of Restoration and Decoration

The exhibition offers to the visitors an insight into the world of authentic artistic craftsmanship.

In the foreground is Historya Venice: Un viaggio nell’arte del restauro e della decorazione, a restoration and art workshop founded by Master Ivan Ceschin from Conegliano (Italy), famed for his ability to restore life and splendor to works of art by utilizing ancient techniques, precious materials and exceptional attention to detail.

The exhibition designates rare, almost abandoned albeit key artistic crafts for the retainment of cultural heritage: the production of frescoes and decorations, the restoration of old works, and gilding with gold leafs, which through the presented works bear witness to the knowledge passed down through the centuries.

The exhibition route from Monfort obviously continues in Piran with the exhibition BUCINTORO and Piran‘s pearls of Venetian cultural tradition, now on display at the Maritime Museum Piran.

On the first floor of the Gabrielli Palace (Piano Nobile) one can admire a superb 1:25 scale model of the BUCINTORO ship, the prominent ceremonial ship of the Serenissima, which was in its entirety made in the Historya Workshop after several years of research and handcrafting.

The guest exhibition Historya Venice will be on view until August 31, 2025, while the temporary exhibition BUCINTORO and Piran‘s pearls of Venetian heritage remains open until December.
