Tartini Project – School Programme
For the first time this year, the Maritime Museum Piran contrived and successfully implemented the project TARTINI - PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOLS. It was accomplished in Tartini's birthplace during 26 and 28 August.
With the project, we inaugurally established a new professional collaboration and additional training for violin teachers, education of violin students, and learning about the life and work of the great Piran native, violinist, composer, scientist as well as pedagogue Giuseppe Tartini.
Two seminars for violin teachers on the topic of "Individual Teaching Preparation" were attended by five violin professors from various music schools The lectures were given by Prof Vildana Repše.
They also included a presentation of the life and work of Giuseppe Tartini by Duška Žitko, the curator and guardian of Tartini's legacy. With the "Story of the Famous Violinist from Piran" performed by the Kamishibai Theatre, all participants were enthused by Jelena and Igor Cvetko from the Zapik Theatre. The special experience was followed the presentation of Tartini's violin by Nicolò Amati (Nicolò Marchioni) from Bologna. It was played by sixteen-year-old Andreja Kmet, first prize winner of this year's Tartini Competition in Piran.
The course for violin students, attended by ten students from different Slovenian music schools, included group lessons on the topic "Preparation for the new school year" and individual lessons.
We deeply wish the TARTINI – PROGRAMS FOR SCHOOLS project becomes an annual event.
