Tartini festival 2026
The Maritime Museum Piran, too, has been cooperating with the Festival for more than twenty years as the custodian of the perfectly preserved and well-tuned Tartini violin on display in the permanent museum collection of Giuseppe Tartini in his birthplace in Piran.
This extraordinary historical instrument is an essential protagonist of numerous concerts. This year it resonated five times in the hands of distinguished and well-established violinists.
This year, the opening concert was entrusted to the prominent Hungarian violinist László Paulik with the Savaria Baroque Orchestra Budapest. This was followed by a concert by the Lorenzo da Ponte Orchestra, with Tartini's violin arousing much respect in the hands of the virtuoso soloist Maristella Patuzzi.
At the concert by the Ensemble Il Terzo Suono & Alfredo Bernardini, the excellent violinist Giampiero Zanocco played the Maestro's violin for the second time, while at this year’s second concert by the Ensemble Il Terzo Suono, the Tartini's violin sounded beautifully under the bow of the talented young violist Greta Manzardo.
The performances with the violin of the great Piran violinist, composer and pedagogue Giuseppe Tartini were concluded this year by the superb virtuoso Lucio Degani, the Festival’s legendary and indispensable guest, who had the honour of playing Tartini's violin the most times so far, this year with the Padua orchestra I Solisti Veneti under the baton of the outstanding maestro Giuliano Carella.
The Maritime Museum Piran considers it a great honour that Tartini's violin, which has been taking care of for decades, remains one of the fundamental and most important witnesses to the rich cultural and musical heritage of Giuseppe Tartini, Piran, Slovenia, Italy and the entire Europe. The Tartini Festival considerably contributes to its international recognition.
