It was lively in the Saltpans
On 7, 15, and 16 of October 2024, first to third-grade pupils of the Elementary School Sečovlje and Sv. Peter visited the Museum of salt making in the Sečovlje saltpans.
♦ The students visited the saltpan house and learned how salt workers lived once in saltpans and what tools they used to collect salt.
♦ They also participated in two workshops: making herbal salt and baking bread in a bread oven. Everyone prepared a pot of herbal salt and a loaf of bread, and they marked it with their name or initials, just like the salt workers did in the past. In addition, we were also able to observe flamingos that visited Fontanigge this year. We had a lovely time and as we learned a lot of new things, we are all looking forward to a new encounter.
The workshops were led by: Veronika Bjelica and Martina Ljubič
Guidance for children through the museum: Nejc Sladič and Lea Grbec
