October Festival of Local Flavours at Monfort

On Saturday afternoon, 5 October 2024, on the occasion of the European Cultural Heritage Days, it was pleasantly entertaining at Monfort, the premises of the Maritime Museum Piran,   in celebration of the traditional October Festival of Local Flavours organised by the Self-Governing Coastal Community of Italian Nationality.

 

This time, the project "Cultural development of the countryside outside the historical core of the city of Piran" was presented, which acquainted the visitors with the image of Piran countryside and the people living there in touch with nature. Within the framework of the project, themed walks were held in the Piran countryside in 2024 under the leadership of landscape architect Romana Kačič. This time, the Giuseppe Tartini Mixed Choir from Piran and "I Cantadori" vocal group of the San Lorenzo - Babići Community of Italians performed with a series of traditional songs and chants, with their harmonious singing resounding in the pleasant company until the evening hours. At the same time, the ethnographic group the Saltpan Family presented its activities and local autumn produce, while individual local craftsmen, artists, caterers and researchers exhibited their own products and services.
