Like many other officers of the former Yugoslav royal navy, Stanislav Abram also spent World War II in Italian concentration camps (March 1942 - April 1943), Ljubljana prisons (March 1944 - September 1944), and German concentration camps (September 1944 - May 1945).

After the end of World War II, in the years 1946 and 1947, he worked at the Ministry of Maritime affairs and at the General Directorate of the Merchant Navy in Belgrade. Later, he was recalled to the Yugoslav navy, serving in naval warfare schools for the training of naval officers. Until his retirement in 1962, he was the head of the Department of Education at the Vocational Schools Centre and of the General Command of the Yugoslav Navy. After retiring in 1963, he began participating with the Splošna plovba Piran.
