Taperini

Taperini were a special type of flat wooden footwear designed for walking on the sensitive bottoms of crystallization basins - "cavedins". They wore them on bare feet or over shoes, preventing damage to the cavedins. Taperini were made in various sizes, from smaller ones for children to larger ones for adult salt workers.
