Wooden fishing boats were first owned by the Arrigoni and Ampelea fish-processing factories. After the Paris Peace Conference in 1947, these vessels were evacuated to Yugoslavia. From then on, fishing was carried out by the company Istria Pesca, later Riba. In 1959, the company joined the Izola Canning Industry Combine, which supplied the fish processing industry with fresh fish. The Sulec fishing boat became part of their fleet in 1965.
